Mike's Story

Early Life

scanfamilypicture

Mike is the 10th child of 12, 6 boys and 6 girls from Ponca City, OK. With that size of family, times were often hard. In the 6th grade, Mike remembers having to find and/or work to get an extra $4 to purchase his first pair of black high-top Converse because his mom was only going to give him $10 for a pair of shoes. He was taught at a young age to reach your dreams a person must work hard and stay focused.

Through the Years

Mike was 16, working for his dad in the heat, air, and sand blasting business when he realized that was not going to be his chosen career path. His brother-in-law offered him a computer operator position and he worked in that field for 14 years. At the age of 26, he was married to his high school sweetheart, Gena, had one child and another one on the way, and started to college where he was focused on becoming a financial advisor. At the age of 30, he attained his goal.

The Move to Owasso

Mike relocated his family to Coos Bay, OR, then to Ottawa, KS for 5 years before getting back to Oklahoma where his heart is. He has worked 20 years as a financial advisor within banks before he opened his own company in January 2015.

Mike has lots of life experience that others can relate to: His mother-in-law retired at 58 and three months later she passed from cancer. Mike has 2 sisters who are breast cancer survivors, he has one sister with MS, his mom has dementia, and his dad passed away in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. Living through his mother-in-law’s early death and his dad’s later death, Mike understands the balance needed for asset availability, now and later, as well as the balance for living life to its fullest.
